Janusz, a self-confident 60-year old, an incredibly active person and an accomplished diver, suffers a stroke which leaves him paralysed. Rehabilitation and assistance of his partner Asia help him regain mobility and improve his functions. He is still struggling with speech and the only person who understands what he says is Asia who interprets him for the world. What keeps Janusz going and motivates to carry on is his big dream – he would like to dive again, despite major hazard for his health and life. His goal is to travel to beautiful but perilous Blue Hole in Dahab, Egypt which poses a challenge even to fit divers.
DOK Leipzig (http://www.dok-leipzig.de) takes place in this year on 28th of October – 1st of November in Germany. It is the largest German and one of the leading international festivals for artistic documentary and animated films. In Young Cinema Competition “Deep love” will rival with 10 other documentaries. That’s how organizers describe them: “Eleven works from ten countries, showing where things are headed: authentic, gripping and beyond all conventions. Myths, fairy tales and music – young cinema puts documentary film on its toes. It’s more than just about winning a Dove. It’s about names to remember.”
